Footer Forms
I never thought I'd be the one forming these footers. Marsha researched it online and found that these forms were ideal for the owner-builder. Obviously, clicking the mouse and forming the footers are 2 different things!
The purpose of this blog is to share our home construction experience with our family and friends. Glad you stopped by! Check back frequently, as we plan to keep this updated as a journal of our progress.

At the walkout basement, we've learned the footer must be 24" below grade. The concrete will be poured directly into the trench. (Notice Dwayne's new tractor!)

After many years of planning and anticipation, we finally started our home construction project on Friday, May 5th! When I saw the first pieces of dirt being moved, I wanted to throw up! I guess it was all of the anxiety of getting the project started but I was soon past it and now we are just excited and planning on enjoying all of the ups and downs of contracting our own construction project. After getting several quotes from general contractors, we decided we could save a CHUNK by doing it ourselves. We'll take any prayers that you can send our way! We have no doubt about what a huge undertaking this is, but we are very excited and learning a lot along the way! We are very fortunate to have several friends who have contracted out parts of their new homes recently, so we have some valuable resources at hand! (That's you guys, Charlie/Robin and Kelly/Vicki!)
